Surprise

Joseph Addison once said: “Everything that is new or uncommon raises a pleasure in the imagination, because it fills the soul with an agreeable surprise, gratifies its curiosity, and gives it an idea of which it was not before possessed.” That’s why I love gardens and gardening, because what you plant is not what always comes out the ground; there is always some surprises in the making, some twists, some varieties. Anyone who has a garden knows that plants have their own minds and grow and stand where they please. And it doesn’t stop there. When you have a garden, you have visitors and they have their own surprises in petto. Not always in a nice way perhaps but C’est la vie.

The Color Of Spring

When a moment in front of me appears to be particularly special, whether it be by beauty or experience, I capture it. I usually find a reason to justify taking that photo – symmetry, or color, or contrast – and it’s my hope that my photography sheds light onto what I see and do on a daily basis.

A Good Match

Matching people, matching random pairs, matching colors, matching items and everything that is matching in between go good together even though they don’t always make sense…

Details

Incredible details from my cottage garden…
The way the individuals hair and fiber of each bloom are magnified up to the tiniest of detail, the dew on each petal, every spot, the spider web and pollen are intensify and increase for maximum effect. Simply beautiful! I can look at it for hours…

Dinnertime

“The honey-bee’s great ambition is to be rich, to lay up great stores, to possess the sweet of every flower that blooms.  She is more than provident.  Enough will not satisfy her, she must have all she can get by hook or crook.”
–  John Burroughs

Future

“There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

– Anais Nin

Spring is a miraculous experience. The whole world comes alive after the winter in which it seemed that everything was dead. The world comes filled with color and the scent of delicious greenery. The world that seemed so dull and cold has come alive once again. Little did we know that beneath the cold hard ground the plants and trees were preparing for rebirth. Spring gives us hope for rejuvenation in our own lives as well. Spring is a time to renew the excitement and zest for life that lives inside.

Vibrant Red

In the midst of the winter, let me warm you with the vibrant flowers from my summer garden…

My Suburban Garden

I have a love hate relationship with landscaped garden. I find it lacking of imagination and freedom to be creative. Though the plants within the boundaries might varied, the overall picture and design look the same year after year. In other word: boring.

On the other hand, it is easy to maintain and economically wise. Looks clean and neat and easy on the eye.
